Sesame-Free Hummus
Just a cute little recipe for a chickpea packed and free-of-sesame allergy-friendly hummus ready for the school lunches, dipping or sandwich needs of the week.
I purposely used pantry-stable ingredients to see how it would impact the flavour.
The result is a beautifully balanced and creamy hummus.
1 can drained chickpeas
1/8 cup honey
1.5 tsp garlic powder
3 tsp nutritional yeast (optional)
1/8 cup bottled lemon juice
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1/2 cup olive oil
2 ice cubes
Using a food processor, combine and blend all ingredients to a paste, except the oil and ice. (30 seconds)
Once blended to a paste, gradually add the oil and blend until smooth. (1-2 minutes)
Add the ice cubes and blend until they have fully incorporated into the hummus. (2 minutes)
bonne bouffe!
